Weekend Snippet: Cooking + Relaxing

We had another busy weekend and as I look ahead the chances are good the weekends will keep being busy until after Memorial Day. This weekend we seemed to spend a lot of time in the kitchen; we had friends over for dinner on Saturday and cooked brunch for Mother's Day so our oven was going constantly. We also did a first attempt at brushing our dogs teeth... our sassy beagle mix wanted no part of this. She really was not a fan. The shephard/cattledog mix was not loving it either but he is a big baby and just squirmed; the beagle let us know how much we were ruining her morning.
When we were at Whole Foods getting a few supplies for the recipes for the weekend, I spotted peonies and had to grab a bunch... they smell fantastic and were quite enjoyable with my morning coffee. I made a little progress on the baby shower sewing projects... a little is the key word in there. We did finally get all our seeds planted in the little backyards... my fingers are crossed that they all come up!
I really should not complain if I don't lose a pound training for the half marathon... In a weak moment of needing some chocolate, I requested chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast this Saturday. They were so worth it. We did fit in 2 runs so it evens out... maybe a little bit considering the yummy crisp that we had Saturday night. Hmmm- it was a good weekend!

I wish that humans had someone to brush their teeth for them. Wouldn't it be grand to sit and watch TV while someone else brushed your teeth, washed your face, and got you ready for bed?
