The Original Anniversary

Nine years ago, when I was at the University of Iowa, a friend's boyfriend was traveling from Colorado with his friend (who happened to her friend from high school through her sister that she introduced to her boyfriend) to visit for her birthday... Dan was the friend and we completely hit it off. {still following!?}
I actually invited Dan to drive a few hours to go to my hometown to watch my younger brother's high school play the day after I met him, he turned me down... and then came back an hour later as he decided to go so he could spend more time with me. At the end of their visit, the day before the boys headed back to Colorado, Dan and I decided that we need to get know more of each other... even though we were 12 hours apart and had only know each other for a week. I can't believe that nine years has passed since we met and decided to try long distance dating.
March 31, 2000Last year at this time we were in the midst of planning our wedding and we questioned whether we would still celebrate this "original anniversary" since we will now have our wedding anniversary. We decided that it is such a meaningful moment in our history that we will still celebrate, even if it is just a little dinner out to remember back to when we were crazy college kids.
