Back to School With Pulp

For day 2 of my back to school kick, I am loving the pretty and functional binders and memo boards at Pulp.

How cool will I look as I sit in technology school course with this pretty fabric covered binder to hold all my notes! It would work equally as well as a wedding binder...

And this memo board would be such a pretty addition to our home office; to tack up my "A" papers or maybe just as the background for an inspiration board...

They also might look pretty as wall decor... and may be a doable DIY project as well...

Organizing For the Messy Moments In Life

Fall for me is always a little bit like the new year; time to reassess and organize. This year I am feeling that need to "get life in order" even more as I am desiring an organized beginning for married life. And I am getting ready to back to school this month... so this week is all about the fun little things I am seeing as I get ready for classes to start.

I love this Life.doc binder from See Jane Work. True, we have this information saved and filed... however having a copy of all those vital details copied into a binder that one can grab when one of life's unexpected, messier moments hits is very appealing to me. Especially as the husband and I don't always have the same ideas on logical filing schematics so this is a nice neutral platform. I just might have to add it to my back to school shopping list.

While The Boy Is Away...

While the boy is away on the first motorcycle weekend trip of the season, the girl will dedicate the weekend to wedding planning and organization! We have exactly 100 days to go...

Somewhere along the way I have cut and adding things and now desperately need to create a new what's in/ what's out list and to do list.

My weekend agenda:
- Create {hopefully} final list of what's in
- List of remaining projects {this one scares me}
- Finalize the ceremony {this is way past my scheduled due date} and send to Officiant
- Finish invitations {I've seriously been dragging my feet on this}
- Work on the highest priority projects as determined in forementioned list of remaining projects

This and a bottle of wine and my girly movies {Becoming Jane and The Jane Austen Book Club} that arrived from Netflixs...

Hello 2008, Year of Organization!

Happy New Year! I love new years. Not necessarily the party-filled new years eve aspect, but the part where you can sit back and think 'wow, what a year 2007 was' and then begin to think forward to all the incredible things that are in store with the upcoming year.

This year will be a big one for us. As I started to think of all that is coming up, professionally and personally, I started to freak out a little bit. So instead of doing my usual organization/cleaning during the first day of the year, I spent hours looking at reception tablescapes on the internet. Ah... avoidance is one of my not so prized skills. Then I thought to double check my wedding planning to do lists and realized that I have many more important things to be worrying about than what vases I might want for our centerpieces. {Note to self: call caterer about sending the contract}

Yes, for me the biggest goal for 2008 is to remain organized. If I am going to graduate from my masters program, get married, and kick off a new committee for a non-profit while working full time then I am going to have keep myself organized, maybe even carry some of those project management skills over to my personal life. {of course it goes without saying that losing those 8 pounds gained last year is also a goal}
