Oh the options... Opinions please!

I have always loved the idea of framing prints from vacations and such that are more landscape oriented.  They are personal without being just another photo of ourselves.  So I have been trying to decide which photos I want to get prints of and need some opinions! I have selected four photographs from four different trips, all are waterviews (I am a water girl).  I would frame them in black frames with white mats.

Photo 1: this was taken just moments before Dan asked me to marry him...

Photo 2: taken on our honeymoon watching the sun come up from our balcony...

Photo 3: our first real vacation together...

Photo 4: the day before my sister's wedding...

So what do you think?  Would these look ok together?  Should I go with only one or two of them instead of four?

An Earthy Toned Living Room

Maybe it is just me but every since the wedding I have been dying to redo/freshen up our home decor.  As we are packing up for our new apartment, the desire to decorate has been intensified.

This is the one shot I have of our new living room:

And this is the what I am thinking about for the room:

Rug, Sofa, Lamp, Prints, Pillow, Curtains, Chair, Credenza

There is something comforting and approachable about a living room with an earthy color scheme. I love softer greens and browns as the main colors with a few pink and peach details.

We are on strict "no extra spending" phase so for a while I will be making due with what we hve but I would love to buy that little owl lamp and, well, actually all of it!  I am going to have to keep checking Craigslist for a credenza...

My New Apartment!

A slight sidebar from my usual post topics... I am moving!  I am so excited to move to a new-to-me neighborhood, Roscoe Village.

We are moving to a cute little walkup on a street that looks pretty similar to this...

While I am not a fan of the packing and unpacking of moving, I love to move to new neighborhoods.  I must have a little gypsy in me!  One of our favorite things to do is to take "family walks" with the dogs and check out new streets; it is one of the ways I find inspiration.

In addition to the fun of being in a new neighborhood, I am looking forward to making the little apartment our home.  I have already started collecting ideas- I am sure there will be a post or two on home decor in the near future!
