Saturday Morning at Montrose Dog Beach

Happy Saturday!  We are having the best start to the weekend with a perfectly relaxing Friday evening and an early morning Saturday visit to the dog beach.  Montrose dog beach is admittedly not my favorite nor is it Shelby's but we were out too late (8am) for taking the dogs to North Ave... so it worked and we had a blast.  We definitely appreciate having a dedicated and legal place for the dogs to enjoy the beach, thanks Chicago!

Enjoy your weekend!  Hope it as beautiful out where ever you are as it is here!

Pet Taxi - Check!

After months of trying to figure out the logistics of having our dogs there on our wedding day for photos we finally have it nearly all ironed out. The dogs now have a reservation with the pet taxi to take them to doggie camp for the evening after photos. I am so excited! I was going to be a little crushed if we could figure this one out.

So when I got the email at work from D that he had found a pet taxi that would do the reservation for a Sunday I nearly jumped out of my seat! Paws Around Chicago made my day!

I wonder if I can get my dogs to pose so calmly like this...

This is a bit more likely but I would have to be bribbing with a treat for a 'trick'

What can I say, our dogs are our kids. So thank goodness there is someone who had the idea to start a 'Pet Transportation' company in Chicago! Now, will they serve them Frosty Paw en route to doggie camp?

Pets Love Weddings Too

It seems as though it is becoming more and more common for couples to include their pets in their weddings. One of the cutest ways {in my opinion} to include the pup is to have them be part of the wedding ceremony. I have a serious case of jealousy that WeddingBee blogger Mrs. Lovebug was able to include their cute pup as the ring bearer as seen in this post with no mishaps. I can just imagine how my crazy little monkeys would look running down the aisle!

However, if one is going to include a pet in their wedding there are quite a few things to consider... will the venue allow it, scheduling a grooming appointment, and keeping the pup happy and properly 'exercised' {to avoid over-exuberance} are just a few. The authors of Petside.com have put together a section full of tips on including the pet at the wedding. It looks as though it would be fairly helpful for those planning to have their pets at their wedding. And if you are or have included your pets please to do share as I love to see the wedding photos where the dog is part of the day!

The Style Fitting Your Pup

I completely love Domino magazine and am loving their website more and more. As I mentioned in my earlier post, today is particulary gray day and I have just needed a few inspiration seeking web moments today to keep the day moving. So I landed on the Domino dogs photo gallery. While we have all heard that dogs frequently resemble their owners; I haven't really given it enough thought to think of if dogs 'fit the style of their homes.'

How is this related to weddings you ask?

Take a look at this photo that Domino describes as sexy, rustic, farmhouse completed by the Great Dane...

Or maybe a Bulldog is more your style? Lily Maddock's entryway has such a beautiful style... I can imaging a beautiful early spring ballroom or gallery wedding with an English style:

Inspiration for a wedding can be found in so many forms! There are many more stylish dogs with their homes at the Domino dogs photo gallery.

Happy Holidays!

Tomorrow morning our marathon of family events and traveling begins so my posting will be intermittent at best. Have a wonderful holiday!

The pups were so excited about their new antlers from Dog-A-Holics that they couldn't wait to try them on(yes, I am 'that kind' of dog owner)...
