Saturday Skirt

It was a scorcher this last weekend and I took the opportunity to spend some quality time in AC with my sewing machine.  I have been wanting to make the 20 Minute Skirt on Grosgrain for weeks but haven't been able to set aside sewing time... so that was the project I decided to cross off my list this past Saturday.

I decided to change up the 20 Minute Skirt by adding a waistband and pleats.  I was hoping to get the waist to lay flat even though I stuck with the directions to use elastic rather than doing a zipper... but it still has that crinkled elastic waistband look.  Those pleats added quite a bit of time as I kept gathering it to be too small and thus had to pull them all out to start over.

I like how light and comfortable the skirt is... perfect for a Saturday walk with the husband and pups.

Thanks, ladies!

Tami, it took me about 3 hours, including about 3-4 tries to get the pleats the right size.
