Wow, the past few weeks have been beyond busy! There have actually been nights where I don't even turn on my laptop (for me, this is unheard of). So after dumping three weeks of photos into this post I won't bore you with the mundane details. But I do want to say that even though I am sometimes incredible frustrated at having to take these photos in the dark and sometimes so not inspired that I end up taking a photo of the most random things in my apartment, it has been a fun journey so far. I am thinking that a bit more focus to this project would help me out tremendously. The open ended "just take a picture" has left me hunting for something anything that will be photo worthy on more than one ocassion. So I am trying a little experiement this week... with more to come next Sunday Edition!

Did this week fly by for anyone else? Please say it wasn't just me that was struggling to keep the to do list at bay! But there are so many signs of spring bringing such an awesome energy that it is uplifting. So anyways! Here are a few fun things that grabbed my attention this week...

For the photo-taking enthusiasts, this Picture Spring workshop looks like fun... anyone else thinking about signing up? Finding focus on spring sounds perfect to me.
For you Chicago ladies, the Hula Palooza looks like an excellent way to spend a spring evening and support the Young Women's Leadership Council. We are planning to go so say hello if you see me!
If you missed it, Gilt is having a huge weekend of sales focused on weddings. There were a few dresses on there today that me wishing that I was still planning my wedding! Need an invite? Here you go!

Dressed for a Spring Party

The other day I headed out for a super quick trip to Anthropologie (seems like an oxymoron, right?) during my lunch hour and was stopped in my tracks by the loveliest dresses. Anthropologie has been seriously on fire lately with their product offerings... they have me swooning on a regular basis. Their dresses this spring are just perfect for attending or the bridesmaids at a wedding or for a bridal or baby shower... so pretty much for any pretty spring or garden party they will not disappoint.

If it was just two short years ago, my bridesmaids would be outfitted with one of these frocks.

And Chicago ladies, did you know that an Anthro store opened on State Street by Marshall Fields? Seriously great for an awesome lunch break.

Pretty Little Jewelry Stand

Looking for a solution to the piles of jewelry on the top of my dresser, I came across this pretty little jewelry stand with charming antique details...

It has such sweet details and I love this for the inspiration of a bedroom. White, gold, brown/tan, and yellows with simple patterns would create such a relaxing environment.

Apparently I am not the only one with spring on their mind... signs of all things bright and airy and spring-like are cropping up all of the place.

I love the handpicked homepage for etsy, it is often a very pretty little collection. The yellows and blues today were especially lovely.

Sunday Edition, Volume 8

Volume 8 of 2010, February 14th - 20th

This volume includes Valentines day. We went to visit my family as it was a three day weekend and our Valentine's day consisted of orange bowknots (sooooo good), a goat cheese frittata, brownie hearts packed in bags as valentines to give to my grandma's, my dad making homemade french fries, and a family movie night. So not romantic per say. But filled with so many sweet memories.

The next two days after our road trip were pretty quiet as the whole family was in need of extra nap times. The next big event was the delivery of our new rug... and I am in love with it. I know it is lame to love a rug but seriously it was worth the wait.

On a little neighborhood walk this Saturday I noticed a magnolia tree with buds... umm hello little sign of spring! But I hope that they don't get frozen and then not bloom, they have a while to go before it is time to blossom in this part of the country. But I will take any sign of spring that comes my way.

Weekend Boots

If I were in a money spending mood these boots would so be mine. They would be quite perfect for a Saturday afternoon date...

I am trying to decide if I want to spend my first non-planned weekend getting the rest of our stuff out of storage and into our new apartment (it has been done soon rather than later) or going on a little day date to see the Inspiring Dreams! Promoting the Burnham Plan exhibit at the library... hmm. And I am trying to decide if I want to do a spending hiatus this year...

Vintage Silver

These silver bowls would be absolutely lovely on a side table and filled with floating spring flower buds (or maybe a bit oversized peony for the small one). Or as a dish to collect guest wishes at a celebration. Or as a vessel for holiday ornaments. Just saying.

Chic & Subtle Wallpaper

Wallpaper has come such a long way. It can be so chic and pretty, but will our kids be groaning about the wallpaper choices of the early 2000's? Either way the Martha's Vineyard Monique is absolutely pretty. I could see this being an excellent choice for any room. And (depending on dimensions) it could be a chic and subtle table runner for a wedding reception, a pretty combination of paper and linens. Oh the possibilities with such a perfectly understated wallpaper!

Volume 7 of 2010, February 7th - 13th

It is not Sunday but as I had today off for President's Day it is essentially Sunday for me... so it is time for Sunday Edition!

This past week I pulled out our polaroid which had not been used since the wedding a year and half ago. It is fun to use and definitely quite different. This past week was pretty lovely (meaning the moments and people I got to spend time with, not the photos :) ). That might have more to do with having a long weekend visit to the countryside. Countryside sounds so romantic doesn't it?
