What Kind of Veil Girl Will I Be...

I recently started to think about what kind of veil I will wear. I know that it will be longer, standard fullness, no blusher, and will not cover my face. I also ruled out the birdcage type veil, I think that this type would just not feel comfortable for me nor would it really go with my dress.

I have narrowed it down to 3 different veils. A mantilla veil, a gathered top mantilla veil, or a standard fullness waltz or chapel length veil. I love mantillas, they look so feminine and simply pretty but I am not sure if these work with the hairstyle I am going for... However, I also like the more simplistic single layer, pencil edge veil... I think I am okay with either one- I just want to select the one that will best complement my dress, hair, and my personality.

Here is my dress {it looks much fuller than it is in this picture due to how she is holding it up}...

Option 1: Oval Mantilla Veil {image from weddingveil.com}

Option 2: Gathered Top Mantilla Veil {image from weddingveil.com}

Option 3: Standard Fullness, Pencil Edge, Waltz length {veilshop.com}

I feel pretty good that I have narrowed it down to 3 choices at this time. Maybe I just need to try my dress on again for inspiration...

Favorite Fiance Reactions to Wedding Planning

My fiance's reaction to wedding planning frequently amuses me. I can't share the frequently bewildered facial expressions that usually accompany these exclamations but you get the idea...

"Can't we just pay people to do that?" ~ in response to DIY projects followed by "Are you serious?" ~ in response to the associated pricing quotes

"Can't we just buy a box of cards?" ~ In response to my DIY holiday cards as a trial run for DIY invites.

"If I didn't get to see Transformers in the theater we are not seeing Sex in the City!" ~ Not wedding planning related but the passion in this exclamation was too funny.

"I am going to need to have a tan for the wedding." ~ First reaction when we got our engagement photos back.

"I am not wearing pink and green socks and we are not doing a photo of our socks." ~ I started this battle early as this was the anticipated response.

"We aren't having a Martha Stewart wedding, are we?"

Blue Dress Barn

Okay, I know- another barn venue. I just love the asthetic that a rustic barn provides for a wedding. When I was searching for venues, I happened to find the website for Blue Dress Barn in Millberg Michigan. It has all the character that one would expect from such an aged building that is owned by an artist-design couple.

I can only imagine the beautiful summer or autumn wedding that would take place at this peaceful and yet cheerful venue...

This is the last barn venue in the midwest that I researched during my venue hunt, however if you are still looking for a venue and are interested in barns available as a venue look into the Barn Journal.

The Style Fitting an Enchanted Barn Wedding

I do love The Enchanted Barn as the setting for a pretty, unique wedding. I mean come on, how often do you say you are going to a wedding in a barn!? This setting is the perfect place to mix in modern and rustic elements for loads of charm. Every since my post yesterday I have been thinking about what I choose if this is where I had decided upon for my own wedding... I think I would keep with greens {definitely celery green} and whites as the primary colors for this setting as they wouldn't compete with the surroundings...

Here is what I came up with this evening for An Enchanted Barn Wedding:

Commanding Blue

Generally, blue would not be my first pick for a wedding... especially 'Tiffany blue.' However, while checking out Jayson's Home and Garden sale online this morning I decided to see if they had any interesting vases and was immediately drawn to these blue vases.

The blue is subtle {not too vibrant} all the while having a commanding aspect. I think that this blue paired with a grey or silver and white or blush flowers would be very lovely...
