Cash To Burn: Lounge

Friday, June 20, 2008 at 6:51AM I would loooove to create a lounge on the mezzanine of A New Leaf. When D and I go out it is most likely a neighborhood bar where we can grab a seat and the music doesn't inhibit conversation. I love places, bars or coffee houses, where a group can get comfortable in sofa's and eclectic chairs. So while creating a lounge at the reception may be a trendy thing, it fits our style and personality more than creating a dance floor.
Where better to lounge than under a tree for an outdoor wedding...

I love the pops of color against the stark white seating that looks so comfy and cool...

For our wedding, I would attempt to create a lounge that was comfortable, inviting, and understated.
This lounge by Soiree is the closest to what I am envisioning {although I would go a bit more understated}...

Don't you just want to sit and catch up and laugh with friends and family while you sip a drink when you see this lounge? However, as much as I would love to have lounge set up at our reception it just didn't rank high enough on the priorities to gain a spot on the budget.

I think lounges are really cool! Like you said, it's a great area to be able to go sit and catch up with others.
Have you thought of maybe using inexpensive benches for seating outside?? Maybe with a simple slipcover, they could look nicer, and still be in your budget?
Riley, you are pretty much right on... I hadn't really thought about it but the garden at my venue is already set up kind of like a relaxed cafe with bistro tables and a few rustic benches. I hadn't thought about it as being a 'lounge' area but it kind of is... and is one of the reasons that I picked the place! Thanks for suggesting that- it cleared up my tunnel vision!
When I first started looking for venues I had the same idea in mind. Unfortunately it's out of our budget to do that. I wish I could find some benches to rent. I think that would be cool too.
i love the idea of an outdoor living space with couches and chairs. the lanterns are a great touch plus i love how they are blowing in the breeze for the photo.
i don't know how i found your blog but i love it!
