The Sock Shot

Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 10:41AM I saw this photograph of the guys in colored socks when I first started wedding planning and I loved it. It is simply fun to have the bit of color peaking out of such formal attire. So I was adament that we would find socks for the guys to do our own version of the 'socks shot!'

Little did I know how difficult it would be to find pink & green argyle socks for guys. I mean, ok I guess that pink and green isn't a 'guyish combo' but seriously. I decided that either pink or green would do the trick but as they have pink ties I was leaning towards pink.
When I saw these socks at JCrew I was so excited... perfect. But then I went to the store and they are pink and navy... navy wasn't going to cut with charcoal suits and black shoes. I really thought about... I mean if I could barely tell they were navy...

Then I landed on these socks from Paul Stuart... perfect. Umm then I saw the price. At $42 a pair... I don't want that picture that badly.
I was almost ready to settle for solid pink socks... then I found these pink and fuschia ones by chance at Macy's... $13 for 3... perfect. True they still have blue in them... but the shade of blue works with the charcoal better than the navy did.
D agreed to get his brothers to wear them... Done. I am getting my 'sock shot!'
{Disclaimer: the lighting was not so hot for the photo I took of the socks.}
