Check! Honeymoon Booked

Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 8:46AM Since it is so cold out, I can't stop thinking about our honeymoon... and also maybe because we just finished booking the logistics. All that is left is to decide which activities we want to do and to pack. We are going to spend 9 days on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica... and it was really helpful to use airline miles and thank you points from our bank {thank you Citibank!} for hotels! I definitely recommend taking advantage of any point systems for vacations.
First stop is Tamarindo:
We are staying at Tamarindo Village and will most likely try surfing, go on a tour of the volcano Rincon de la Vieja or the mangroves, and maybe take a yoga class by the beach. I would also like to see the local artisan making pottery in Guaitil village.

Next stop is Quepos by Manuel Antonio where we will stay at La Mansion Inn. We will hike in Manuel Antonio, do a canopy tour, maybe find somewhere to snorkel...
Our final stop will be in the town of Jaco and staying at Villa Caletas. Maybe a little beach time, kayaking, and try the local nightlife with some partying before we head back home.

We are planning for our honeymoon to be a nice mix of relaxing and adventure, to experience the local culture as much as possible, and to see the incredible natural beauty of Costa Rica. I hope to see colorful birds, monkeys, the mangroves, an active volcano, and waterfalls. I love traveling with my fiance and cannot wait for our honeymoon!

Tamarindo is great - i highly suggest taking surf lessons while you are there. Stop by Jardin del Eden http://www.jardindeleden.com/
for dinner and have Alex and Elias make you the special honeymooner table - that is where we stayed while we were in Tamarindo! Enjoy your trip - it sounds fantastic!
Oh, how I LOVE Costa Rica! While in Tamarindo, cross over to Playa Grande and eat dinner at Hotel Bula Bula (our favorite place to stay in CR). They have a great restaurant and you escape the somewhat touristy area of Tamarindo. The beach is also MUCH less crowded (really only surfers), even though it is only a five minute boat ride across the lagoon. I am so excited for you guys- you are going to love it!
