20 weeks

Pics: 15 weeks & 20 weeks

I have reached the halfway point for this pregnancy and thus far am loving being pregnant.  I feel fantastic.  Other than when I have to go shopping for maternity clothes...  I am totally okay with having a preggo belly but not loving most of the clothes that are out there.

We had the anatomy scan ultrasound this past Friday and it was awesome to see the little kiddo looking like a baby.  Now when I feel the kicks (this kiddo is majorly active) I am picturing the little baby.  And it was really tough to stay team green at the ultrasound.  When they told us to look away while they were assessing that both of us were so tempted to find out.  But it will be another 20 weeks or so until we find out if our little one is a boy or girl.

As far as preparing goes, we have barely started to puchase the seemingly endless list of things needed before July.  We did move to an apartment that has room for a little one so that counts right?! Our babymoon is quickly approaching and I think that we will get to work on the baby's room after that.  I do have lots of thoughts about the nursery decor am excited to see them come to life.

So back to the maternity clothes - other than the usual suspects of Gap, Old Navy, Asos, and Shade where can a girl find a flattering but budget friendly preggo wardrobe?  And after a recent terrible trip to Target (they had three racks of clothes - three! With zero selection of sizes.) they are off my list!

Belly Dance has some good sales! You should sign up for their emails. Nordstrom used to carry a nice selection but no longer. H&M has it sometimes. Otherwise, I hate buying maternity clothes :(

I'm stuck on Old Navy, Gap and Target. Trying to keep the budget reigned in! We too, are going team green- it's so exciting although does present a challenge to nursery decorating!

You look so great, Tara! And also... way to slip "we moved" right in there... that is a HUGE undertaking! Kudos to you for doing so much and keeping your head space nice and serene. Also: have you checked out Boden maternity?

HAPPY BABY!!! I've been meaning to come by and congratulation you on the fantastic news. That is, AFTER I realized it was you and not another Tara I know that was pinning nursery photos. That could have been an awkward confrontation. :)

CONGRATS!

Thank you Leslie and Maggie!!

I do like Boden but I am way to cheap for them most of the time ;)

You look great! Dang-- I was SO hoping you were going to find out. I wanted to send you some great stuff, but most of it is gender-specific. Hmmm.... Maternity clothes-- have you checked H&M??

Tara - maybe I somehow missed this news on a previous post, but congrats! I have been following your blog since it was about wedding planning! So crazy. I still consider myself a newlywed (3 years later) and don't have kids yet, so I can't help you in the clothing department. But I just want to send my absolute best wishes to you and your husband and your new beautiful family.

I just found out that TopShop has maternity and there is actually a lot of it! I just looked online- not sure if they have it in the Michigan Ave store.

Halfway already?! And hooray for Team Green! You will not regret the decision to wait. There is nothing more thrilling than hearing "It's a Boy" or "It's a Girl."

As for maternity clothes, I bought most of mine from Motherhood Maternity. They offer great staples like leggings and tanks and jersey dresses, and everything is so affordable. Good luck!

You look awesome! And this post is full of excitement and activity. I love it and remember those days so well. I agree with the suggestion of Motherhood Maternity - they have a lot of basics and good sales.
